Public Transport Victoria (PTV) is a statutory authority that acts as a system authority for all public transport and an advocate for public transport users throughout Victoria.

With constant improvements required to the public transport system within Victoria, PTV are required to ensure that existing PTV bus infrastructures meet Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) standards and include the design and construction of road related infrastructure, bus stop indents and hard stands, Tactile Ground Surface Indicators (TGSI), connecting paths as well as other design features. As such PTV are continually upgrading existing infrastructure to meet the required standards.

HEC have been appointed on many occasions and continues to provide PTV services to undertake investigations and design related works to the required upgrades of existing PTV infrastructure. The services provided by HEC as part of these contracts include;

• Full site level and feature surveys including service investigations. Includes liaison with service authorities regarding impact or potential service upgrades required as part of the proposed works.
• Conceptual and detailed design of proposed bus stops and related roadside infrastructure to DDA requirements and in accordance with relevant regulatory authority specifications.
• Liaison with the responsible roads authority and local councils to obtain in principle endorsement.
• Preparation of Schedule of Quantities and Construction Cost Estimates for funding and tendering purposes.
