Essendon Fields, being a HEC client since 2013, engaged HEC as the civil engineering consultant on the consultancy team responsible for the preliminary and detailed design associated with the extension of the AutoCentro precinct in Essendon Fields adjacent the Warriway Road exit off the Tullamarine Freeway.
The project included the design and documentation of a new stormwater drainage system and civil infrastructure to service the new precinct to accommodate the new car dealerships including Land Rover, BMW, Mini & Jaguar.
The key requirements for the proposed project works include:
• Civil infrastructure design including access roads, drainage, pedestrian paths, safety railing, guard railing and water sensitive urban design elements
• Servicing including sewer, water, communications power and lighting.
• Stormwater investigation and design including MUSIC modelling and preparation of a storm water management plan for the development.
• Liaison with the consultancy team including Essendon Fields, Architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers and electrical engineers to confirm servicing requirements
• Delivery of the civil works design documentation whilst complying with the Planning Permit and PERCOW and relevant approvals by the Responsible Authority for the development of the land;
• Full compliance with all Legislative Requirements and those of any authority having jurisdiction over the Project or Project Works;
• Full compliance with the relevant VicRoads, Australian and Authority Standards on design of each civil, structural and electrical component;
- Water sensitive urban design principles, the promotion of green technology and minimal construction footprint that does not compromise quality and ensures safety in design.
